In Memoriam: Honoring the Life of Brandon Sheckels

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Brandon Scott Sheckels. Brandon went missing on August 2, 2022, after leaving his house, on foot, around 8pm that night. On Friday, January 26, 2024, we received the most devastating news that Brandon's remains had been found about a mile from his home on Shangi-La Drive. His body was discovered by a KPD officer during a training session, in the woods, off of Rutledge Pike behind the old Kenjo Market. The Medical Examiner's office will not have any information for us until they have fully investigated, and they aren't sure if we will ever know the cause of death. We are glad to have him home, but we are devastated by this outcome. Brandon was a loving, kind, gentle soul who never met a stranger and touched the lives of many with his kindness, laughter, and warmth. As we come together to remember and celebrate his life, we are faced with the reality of unexpected funeral expenses. To provide Brandon the farewell he deserves, we are reaching out to our community for support.
