In memoriam - Karla Escobedo

Karla Escobedo was a mover of mountains - a woman who found solutions to everything always, and with a wink and a smile, she could make anything seem doable. She had a sharp mind, a big heart and a generous spirit. She had a passion for learning, teaching and nurturing. She dedicated herself to her work, making sure that everyone and everything was accounted for. She began her dreams alongside her best friend 18 years ago, opening Kaban Montessori school which encourages more creativity, imagination and curiosity.  She was a leader, a mentor, a lover, an educator, a daughter, a loving wife, and an incredible mom.

She was diagnosed with cancer a little over a year ago, where she quickly began her treatments bravely, smiling all the way through. During her whole journey, she never abandoned her role at the school, as she stayed connected with the parents and staff. She has always had a connection with people, but most importantly, with the children.

Karla always had the wellbeing of children as her life purpose, she would've loved to aid in children's healing, ensuring that no child would have to suffer the pain of being sick. She believed fighting for the health, happiness, and well-being of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society.

In her memory, we are raising money to benefit SickKids Foundation, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for any contribution.
