In Memory of a Beloved Companion

Donation protected
On Sunday we suffered a catastrophic house fire.  We lost almost everything; most devastatingly, our beloved cat Odin.  He was affectionate, brave, curious, smart and funny.  He loved to lay in the sun, sit in boxes, chase bugs, and get scratched behind the ears (or anywhere except his belly).  When you petted him, he’d lick your hand with his sandpaper tongue and he purred so loudly he kept us up at night.  Even people who didn’t like cats liked Odin. He only had one eye, but he was a great hunter and kept our house free of spiders and mice. He was our little buddy, he always made us feel better, and we miss him so much.  We buried him under his favorite tree so he can watch the birds. We’ll always love and miss him.

Odin was rescued in Philadelphia in early 2015, suffering from a bad eye infection.  His surgery was performed at the Devon Veterinary Hospital thanks to their Critical Critter Fund, which provides lifesaving medical care to animals with no other options. This fundraiser will benefit the fund as well as local shelters/rescues to give other animals the chance to find their home.  If you ever met Odin, or had your own pet that you loved, please consider giving in their memory.

As a silver lining, we took tons of pictures of Odin (he was very photogenic and loved to pose).  The best photos can be found here:
