On the evening of December 20, 2024, Abel Her was tragically taken from us in a senseless act. At just 15 years old, Abel’s life was cut short far too soon, leaving behind a devastated family and a community in shock.

Abel was more than just my nephew, a grandson, a son, a brother, and a friend. He was a bright loving soul, who brought warmth and kindness to everyone who knew him. His infectious laughs, his unwavering loyalty, and his heart full of love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of crossing his path. Abel had so much more to give, and he was a cherished part of his family. Now, we're left to grieve this unimaginable loss.

In the wake of this tragedy, my family is facing not only the unbearable pain of losing him, but the unexpected financial burdens that come with the funeral costs and also the medical expenses for his 14-year-old younger sister who was injured and survived in this tragedy. No family should have to go through such a heartbreak.
