UPDATE- MEMORIAL FOR ADRIAN GUNTER
Donation protected
Thank you sooo much to my friends, family and the community. We are almost at our goal. This was a tragic situation - Adrian should still be with his family, with all of us. Please help me finish this goal. We need to make our kids, our youth aware of the dangers of giving in to peer pressure, trying ANY kind of drug to be cool with friends, to experiment or otherwise. It only takes ONE time to end a life. Is it worth the risk? Is getting high worth ending your life? You have a 50/50 chance any time you use a substance. Either you live another day or you die. Doesn’t matter if it’s smoking it, pills, shooting up- dead is dead. How many teens do we have to lose before we address this issue and be totally transparent? As a parent would you really buy marijuana for your kid? Would you buy them alcohol? Most will say HELL NO- but there ARE those few parents who DO this. BE AN EXAMPLE AND DO NOT PROMOTE DRUG USE WITH YOUR KIDS. DO NOT TRY AND BE THEIR FRIEND- be their PARENT; protect them. Don’t contribute to the dangers they already face daily, Adrian’s family is devastated by lack of common sense of other individuals. Let’s set good examples for our kids.
PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR GOAL SO WE CAN MEMORIALIZE ADRIAN
*UPDATE* Today we celebrated Adrian’s life and the love and laughter he blessed everyone with. It’s surreal - it’s painful- it’s at times unbearable. This memorial will be GRAND and EXCEPTIONAL just like Adrian was and IS. He will always be these things. I think lessons were learned today. I think his friends listened to those wiser than themselves and lives were saved. I believe Adrian WILL save lives by losing his. I have to - it’s the only thing that makes any sense. My sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to this goal AND everyone who prayed for Adrian’s family and friends. These kids are young and still need our guidance. Parenting doesn’t end when they graduate and turn 18. It’s a life long job. Hug your kids, have open discussions with them no matter how awkward they may feel. I’m a mom of Six- we’ve had our speed bumps. Never give up on your kids. No matter how frustrated you may get- always remind them that YOU are there for them NO MATTER WHAT.
My name is Carolyn McKee and I’m raising funds to purchase a memorial to donate to Gig Harbor High School in memory of Adrian.
He was taken from us way before his time; Adrian had so much to contribute to this world. His infectious smile brightened anyone’s day - his sense of humor and quick witted demeanor was superior to his peers.
Adrian was an amazing friend through good and bad times and always available to help if needed. He was literally “ one in a million” and we are all deeply devastated by losing him. Please find it in your hearts to donate to Adrian’s memorial to show his family your support and keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Anyone inquiring about funeral costs please know that my family is taking care of them and this is why I’m asking for “memorial” funds for GHHS. Hug your kids tighter, tell them you love them daily- we are not promised tomorrow and life is so so precious.
Parents PLEASE discuss peer pressure and the devastating consequences it can have.
PLEASE consider skipping just one Starbucks this week or an Amazon Prime order and instead, put those funds towards an act of kindness to honor Adrian. Gone too soon….
