In Memory of Akins Canty

Akins Canty touched so many lives with his love of people, food and sports. In memory of Akins, “Kin”, who passed away on January 14, 2021, his wife Akisha Canty invites you to join her in raising funds to carry on the legacy of Akins by supporting the sponsorship of individuals who share his love for cooking.
Akins was an Executive Chef with more than 20 years in the restaurant business. He completed his formal culinary training at New York Restaurant School in 1994 and perfected his talent working at highly regarded restaurants in New Jersey including The Frog and the Peach, SoHo on George, Old Man Rafferty's, The Grand Summit Hotel, Jacquie's Cafe and 3 West.
Always willing to share his knowledge Akins was a teacher, mentor, consultant and friend to many in his industry. He was genuinely joyful and happy about the success of others feeling that he in some small way had a hand in their success. To continue to share Akins' passion for food and mentorship, all funds received will be used to support individuals enrolled in classes at Promise Culinary School (https://promiseculinary.org/) once they resume*.
We are in communication with Elijah’s Promise and are committed to sharing updates with you as we have them.
Thank you for your generosity in honoring the memory of Akins Canty and carrying on his loving contributions.
