In Memory of Alexander Wayne Dudine

I have created this on behalf of my beautiful sister and brother in law.

Jessica has always envisioned bringing a sweet beautiful baby into the world.  She spent most of her adult life working in various nurseries helping others raise their children.   When she met Chase she knew that this was the man that she was going to begin her family with.
On April 16th Jessica and Chase found out that they were going to be parents.  From the first glance at the positive test, Jessica and Chase were instantly overcome with joy at the prospect of bringing another life into this world.  When they found out they would be welcoming a baby boy a sense of relief filled Jessica's body after growing up with mainly sisters. Jessica's pregnancy had its shares of ups and downs.  The downs were filled with going into preterm labor at 22 weeks, needing a cerclage to prevent Alexander's early arrival, and numerous doctors appointments to monitor their health.   Jessica ended up being put on bedrest as a result of the complications of her pregnancy.
Jessica and Chase spent numerous hours planning for Alexander's arrival.  If you know Chase you would know that Batman is his second favorite person after Jessica.  Alexander accumulated countless Batman memorabilia including onesies, decorations, etc. They did what every set of new parents would do researching all of the new baby gear available to first time parents.  They wanted to create a warm and close environment within their own room, so they could always be near their baby boy.  Chase could not wait to bond with his little boy and teach him everything Batman, Ravens Football, and video games. Jessica looked forward to the cuddles and creating that special mother and son bond.
At 27 weeks at her weekly sonogram, Jessica found out that her cervix was beginning to funnel again.  At the time this was not a huge concern as we know that she was having complications.  She had follow up appointments that did not bring any new concerns.
At 29 weeks Jessica went in for her regular weekly doctor's appointment. When the doctor went to search for Alexander's heartbeat it could not be found.  She was sent for a sonogram that confirmed that Alexander's heart was no longer beating.  There is no word or emotion that can explain what a mother and father go through when they hear these heart wrenching words.  This little boy and beautiful soul that they have longed over and have waited what seemed like a lifetime to be able to hold has taken his last breath and was now peacefully asleep.
That night Jessica was strong and brave as she could be as her and Chase welcomed their beautiful baby boy.  Alexander Wayne Dudine was born on 10/7/2020 at 1:23 AM weighing 2lbs & 4oz and measuring 13.75 inches long.  He was the spitting image of his dad, with a head full of beautiful dark hair.  Even though Jessica and Chase were utterly heartbroken they fell in love with their beautiful son.
They were able to spend the day with Alexander, taking in every second of the time that they with him.  They memorized every inch of his beautiful body and embraced the moments that they were able to spend as a family of 3.
No one will ever know the strength of the love that Jessica and Chase had for their little boy.  Nobody will ever know Alexander like his mother and father, who got to feel his kicks, headbutts, and hiccups.  Even though their time together on Earth side was cut short, Alexander was loved immensely by so many.  His parents will always have the image of their perfect sweet little boy who was definitely daddy's twin.
To Alexander: Your mommy and daddy spent years waiting for you, not knowing what parenthood would entail for them.  They dreamed and could not wait to find out everything about you.  They wanted to guide you through your fears and journey of where life would take you.  Although they will not get to experience these moments first hand, they know through his movements that he was a happy and ornery little boy.  There will never be a day that they do not think about your beautiful little nose or extra long fingers and toes.  Your memory will forever fill their hearts with love and happiness.

Donations received will be put towards medical bills, as well as, after life expenses for Alexander.  We also welcome healing and happy thoughts for our family as we walk this journey.
