In Memory of Amarpreet

Dr. Amarpreet Singh, a brilliant Resident Physician at Western Reserve Health Education, was hoping to finish his internship in June 2022 and had already been accepted for a PGY2 position in Georgia. Unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 27 on 5/3/2022.

He was helping patients on Monday and was last seen by his preceptor the same day. He did not come to his rotation on Tuesday, which was unusual given he was always on top of things and very punctual. On Tuesday morning, I went to his apartment to do a wellness check on him, only to find him lifeless and in peace. That was when we knew we had lost our dear friend.

Dr. Singh was one of the finest residents in the program and an impeccable human being, ever-smiling and warm-hearted. He was a responsible son and brother and a compassionate physician, helping patients with the COVID-19 pandemic on the frontlines.

As we mourn our loss, we are also obliged to the responsibilities that lay ahead. Dr. Singh had beautiful dreams for his parents once he finished his residency. He used to share these dreams with his co-residents, and it always warmed our hearts to witness this beautiful soul's vision. The donated fund will help his vision come true with the help of a charity that his family would want to contribute to in his name.

I am Shyam, and I knew Amarpreet for about a year as we dug into the same trenches as fellow caregivers. He was a great friend and physician. The funds will be transferred to his family's account, and all ownership of the funds will be transferred to them.
