In Memory of Amber Marie Rodriguez
Donation protected
Amber Marie Rodriguez was brutally murdered April 22, 2024 at William Wiley Elementary School in West Richland, Washington - the victim of a domestic violence homicide. Amber is the loving, devoted, and fiercely protective mother of Eden (9), and Leon (6).
So many in our community and beyond are looking for a way to support Amber’s family during this devastating and tragic time. Eden was a witness to his mother’s murder and will need extensive support going forward. Due to Leon’s unique abilities, he may not understand why his mommy is gone, but he feels the loss deeply and is also in need of support and resources. Eden and Leon are blessed with a large, loving maternal family who will raise them to know just how much they are loved by their most precious guardian angel.
Let’s support the family during this horrific time. Funds will be used for the immediate and long term needs of the children, as well as to lay Amber to rest.
The family would like to thank the staff and families at William Wiley Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, the Richland School District, the West Richland Police Department, and all the local, regional, and national law enforcement partners involved.
This fundraiser is created with the permission and support of Amber’s family. This is the *only* GFM supported by Amber’s family. Information on a bank account for the children will be provided at a later date. Thank you for your support.
April 25th, 2024 press release from Mason Pickett of Pickett Law, PLLC:
On behalf of the family of Amber Marie Rodriguez, thank you for the outpouring of support. The thoughts, the prayers, and the well wishes are deeply felt at this most tragic time. Please know that Amber’s children are safe and well supported by their entire maternal family, with whom they are blessed to be very close.
It goes without saying that the local community and others throughout our state and nation are experiencing trauma and distress over the heinous acts that took place on April 22, 2024 in West Richland, Washington. The utter shock and horror are felt acutely by the family of Amber Rodriguez and they ask for privacy at this time. Siblings lost a sister, parents lost their daughter, and most importantly innocent children lost both of their parents.
Please respect what the family is going through by affording them the space and privacy to grieve. There is a place and a time to seek answers and determine next steps - now is not that time for this family. They are collectively struggling to put one foot in front of the other to get from one moment to the next.
Media is asked to refrain from contacting the family. Fundraisers approved by the family include the GoFundMe started by Tara Symons, MSW, MBA, LICSW, and the May 3rd event at the Hub of Kennewick. Ms. Symons served as the family’s Guardian ad Litem and is authorized by the family to collect donations and authorize fundraisers on their behalf. All donations will go directly to the family for Amber’s services, the needs of the children, and a trust account for the children’s future. Please allow Amber’s family to grieve in peace.
