In Memory of Augusto Rivera

Noel Augusto Rivera, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday April 20, 2020 at JFK Medical Center. He was born and raised in Lima, Peru. Noel moved to the United States in 1970 with nothing but a suitcase and a wish to pursue the American dream. His dream was realized when he began working at Victory Box Corporation and made his way up to plant supervisor providing the best life for his new bride Lida. Noel and Lida went on to have 50 years of blissful marriage and 6 beautiful children together; 4 boys and 2 girls.
Noel was an extremely hardworking man who retired in 2009. He loved spending his golden years helping to raise and play with his 9 grandchildren with ages that varied from 4 to 17. His grandchildren have the greatest memories of their pa cooking the best mac and cheese and hot chocolate; in addition he would have his family’s mouths water in the kitchen with his exceptional authentic Peruvian cuisine. Noel had a strong love for travel and would always reminisce about sipping pina coladas in the Dominican Republic and laying on the beach in Hawaii. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports with soccer being his favorite. On warm days, he relished the sweet taste of a banana split ice cream while telling memorable stories and hilarious jokes. His sense of humor as well as his dancing skills was unmatched.
Noel is survived by his wife, his children and his grandchildren who will always remember his positive outlook on life and his smile that lit up the entire room. Noel had one of the biggest hearts and was always willing to help out someone in need. His family and friends will never forget his passionate singing and his songbird like whistle.
Pa will always be in our hearts.
The Rivera family has been devastated by the untimely loss of our dear Augusto. Loving husband, father, and grandfather. We are grateful to everyone for your countless prayers and blessings we have received. We regret most of the family and friends will not be able to have a proper goodbye. Unfortunately these are the times we are currently living in. In lieu of flowers, cards,etc... we ask to please make a donation in his name. This will help the family tremendously with funeral and burial cost.
The entire Rivera family thanks you and god bless us all in our grief.
