In Memory of Aurelio Monge

If 2020 wasn't difficult enough already, Benoit Bistro was tragically forced to say goodbye to one of our own, Aurelio Monge. Aurelio experienced a sudden brain aneurysm on December 26, 2020, and left this world a few days later. He was 48 years old. Aurelio leaves behind his wife Berenice Monge and four sons, Luis, age 19, Edward, age 16, Christopher, age 13, and Alejandro, age 8.
Aurelio was a husband, father, master prep cook, butcher, and considered to be the backbone of Benoit's kitchen. His passion, care, dedication, and strong work ethic was unknowingly experienced by all who have dined at Benoit. He had been an integral part of the kitchen team since Benoit's beginning in 2008.
Aurelio will be remembered by the staff at Benoit as a ray of light who was always ready to help out, with a smile on his face. Aurelio was a humble family man, who loved his kids dearly and enjoyed cooking for them at home. Simple pleasures were more important to him and he treated his friends like family. Aurelio's legacy will carry on in the lessons of kindness, love, and hard-work that he taught to his sons.
