IN MEMORY OF BETZE HUDSON ANDREWS

Donation protected
I'm only one of the hundreds of friends Betze made over her lifetime. Just wanted to make you all aware of a need.Betze Hudson Andrews, a friend to everyone she ever met, died September 5, 2021. She was a mother of two sons, and grandmother of a 6-month-old grandson, William Marcus Lackey. I saw first-hand how Betze never tired from helping others. She was an active participant in the American Business Women’s Association, sponsoring scholarships for young women wanting to further their education. You may have bought homemade ice cream from her during those years ABWA had a booth at the Fire Ant Festival. Betze had a servant’s heart. She was a true warrior having survived breast cancer twice. Years before her own cancer, she was a strong supporter of Relay for Life who fought for other cancer survivors.

She was so strong, independent, and never complained. When she suddenly was so ill, her family thought this too was something that would slow their mom down for a while, but of course she would recover. She would be back to shopping, baking, wedding planning, and catering for church and family events; all the things she loved to do.

All of her many friends, her coworkers at Josey's Ranch, and her family will be lost for a while, but she taught us all well. When bad things happened, Betze would smile, shake her head and say, "Oh, well" and keep going.

Betze's sons have been traveling back and forth from Austin and Denton during their mother's illness. They will have to be here in Marshall for an extended time to take care of the all many things that must be done at a time like this. Betze was always so generous and it is time for her friends to help her family as they are taking care of her affairs; saying good-bye to their mother; and closing her home here in Marshall.

Price and Nico have been here for weeks already and will be on leave a few more weeks to make decisions that they thought they would not have to make this soon. Reece and his wife Victoria have been delayed in Denton due to their baby’s recovery from Covid, and then Victoria contracting the virus. Any help you can give Price and Reese would be greatly appreciated as they are faced with the immediate expense of their mother’s funeral service and all the expenses they are facing the next couple of months.
