With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Beverly Donna Yee, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who passed away on 09/05/2024 at the age of 65. After being diagnosed with ALS in December 2023, she passed peacefully in her sleep at home in Palo Alto with family by her side.

Beverly was born in San Francisco, CA on July 29, 1959. Growing up, Beverly attended Clarendon Elementary School, Herbert Hoover Middle School, and Lowell High School (‘77). During her childhood, she was granted the Shield and Scroll Award and Presidential Fitness Award 12 times, while also a member of Girls basketball, flag football, Chinese club, track, and orchestra. She was also an active member at Cameron House in Chinatown.

In 1979, she received her AA degree from SF City College followed by her Nursing degree at SF State College in 1981. As a nurse, she worked at UCSF Medical Center, On Lok, and Foothill College.

After receiving her Master’s at UCSF in 1988, she worked as a Nurse Practitioner for 36 years at the Palo Alto Veterans Affair Hospital: Blind Rehab, Geriatrics, and Cardiothoracic Surgery Departments. Beverly was very passionate about her work; she loved to help others and brought her altruistic energy throughout work and personal life.

In 1979, Beverly and Jon met, fell in love, and tied the knot in 1983. Beverly’s most memorable moments were raising and educating her children. When Beverly was not working, she was busy immersing herself in her children’s school and sport activities, Scouts, gardening, playing Mahjong with her parents, and traveling. Beverly loved the outdoors and always planned family vacations, road trips, and camping trips every year. Her life goal was to visit all the National Parks. In her lifetime, she was able to visit 56 out of 63. Her children will carry on her legacy by visiting the remaining seven.

Beverly is survived by her husband Jon Yee, son Stuart, daughters Serena and Sylvia, and dog Nala. She brought immeasurable happiness, joy, and light into our lives with her kind heart, energy, cultural traditions, boundless curiosity, and love. She is deeply missed and will always be remembered.

We will be cherishing the life of Beverly on 09/19/2024 at the Palo Alto Alta Mesa Memorial Park.

Donations will be used to help offset the cost of funeral expenses. Additionally, we will be sending a portion of the proceeds to the ALS Network in hopes of helping to find a cure to this disease.
