In memory of Carlos Ruiz

On Monday, December 21st our hearts were shattered when we lost a great man to COVID, Carlos Ruiz. Even now as I’m writing this my heart continues to break. I’m having such a hard time finding the words to put together. I think it’s because I know Carlos is looking down right now cursing at me for doing this. But, I also know that he would be the first one in line to help someone else if they were in need. Carlos was the most loyal, loving friend, and all of us who loved him are left with a great big hole in our hearts. Above all else, we all know how much Carlos loved his family. So, I’m doing this because I know how much his sons - my compadre Jonathan, and Michael and his treasured grandkids Mikey, Jayden, and his princess Jenna are hurting. We all thought Carlos was going to pull through. We prayed and felt some hope when he said he was fighting even though he was tired. But it was his time and now they are trying to figure out how to move on without their rock. This is why I’m reaching out... because I want to help them ease their stress as they are trying to plan Carlos' funeral. And, because I know Jonathan and Michael are not going to reach out themselves - I’m doing it for them. If you’re able to give, please do so. Any amount is appreciated. Thank you.
