In Memory of Charles Mitchell Mumpower: Funeral Fund
Donation protected
My dearly beloved 34-year-old Grandson, Charles Mitchell Mumpower, passed away and went to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 25, 2024. He had gone to visit his grandmother (“Granny”) who was hospitalized in West Virginia; she passed away while he was there. Following his Granny's funeral service he remained in West Virginia to be supportive of his dad who was scheduled for chemo treatments for cancer. Under all the stress, Mitchell suffered a heart attack at his dad's home and a second one while undergoing catheterization surgery, which he was unable to recover from. He lost his brother Joshua Logan Mumpower in 2019 and his mother Dianne Layton Mumpower, my daughter, in 2020.
Mitchell was loved and respected for his kind and caring ways. He was a gentle giant, always willing to give you “the shirt off his back”, even if it meant he would go without. We miss him and the heartbreak is nearly unbearable.
We want to give Mitchell the funeral service he wanted and deserves, to honor his memory and allow friends and family to say our final goodbyes. Mitchell did not have insurance and we are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost of funeral and burial services. In order to move forward with arrangements we are asking for donations to help cover these expenses, which are totaling in the $20,000+ range. Nelsen Funeral Home on Laburnum Avenue in Richmond, Virginia is working with us and suggested GoFundMe as a place to reach out to family, friends, and others who may be willing to help. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to make a donation at this time, we understand. Please also feel free to share this Fundraiser with others you may know whose lives have been touched by Mitchell.
I sincerely thank each and every one of you for your consideration and support during this very difficult time.
