In Memory of Charlie: Support for Murphy

On Wednesday 10/16/2024, our beloved Charlie Ann McDowell (maidan name Sterling) tragically died in a car accident just 12 days before her 30th birthday. She is survived by widowed father Mike Sterling, former husband and friend Duncan McDowell, many friends and most importantly her 5 year old son Murphy. There are no words that can take away the pain of losing someone that was such a bright light. She was truly a force of nature, and the most beautiful, kind hearted, generous, and hilarious humans of all time. She has been not only my sister for 26 years but also my confidante, stylist, personal comedian, and so much more.
Anyone who knew Charlie understood that she was an absolutely incredible mom who made everything so special for her son who has just started kindergarten. The way her son is handling this with grace, empathy, and wisdom beyond his years is a true testament to how she raised him. This unexpected tragedy has been earth shattering for her family, friends and so many who were touched by her generosity and kind soul in our community. The best way we can honor her heart and provide a small comfort to her family is by ensuring a secure future for her son who was the light of her life. Funds will go directly into an account for Murphy to be used for college, potential medical expenses, or anything that may possibly ensure his safety, happiness and wellbeing. Anything helps.
