In Loving Memory of Christopher Joseph Szotak
Donation protected
I would like to start off by saying thank you for being here. My name is Michelle Montes and I am a close family friend of the Szotak family. I have known the family for many years and I would like to help them out in any way possible. CJ and his beautiful family have been a shining light guiding so many through dark times; now is the time to reciprocate and prove that love and kindness is always the answer.
As some of you may know, on July 29th, 2020, heaven gained another angel. His name was Christopher Joseph Szotak. He was the son of both Karin and George Szotak, a brother to Allynn and Kiersten Szotak, a friend to anyone who was in need of one, and a fellow dodger.
If you ever got the chance to meet CJ, you would know that he had a heart of gold and a kind soul. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need, and would make sure they were okay. He deeply valued his family, friends, teammates, and everyone he knew. He had a huge passion for wrestling and a devotion to his teammates. His love for wrestling and selfless care for friends and family was evident to all.
As you can imagine, funerals can be very costly. Any donation, no matter how big or small, makes a huge difference and would be greatly appreciated. All donations will be given to the Szotak family directly by me, in order to cover any funeral expenses such as the venue rental, flowers, minister fee, decorations, etc. I kindly ask for friends and family to help care for the Szotak family as they deal with this unspeakable tragedy and grief. As they have shown all of their family and friends love in times past, let us now, show them love and care.
Finally, as a community, I ask that we work together to end the stigma that surrounds mental health disorders. We should normalize opening up, letting our emotions out, and asking for help. It is not a sign of weakness, but rather, a sign of strength. This stigma should be replaced by mental health support. We need more facilities and people to be available for those in need. No family should ever have to go through what the Szotak family is going through right now. Even though CJ's time with us was short, the memories we have with him will never fade. With that, I ask to please be kind and to always be there for one another.
