In Memory of Coach and Educator Steve Aspden
Donation protected
So have you ever thought about the importance of after school activities for a middle school student? My dad absolutely did. Steve Aspden lost his battle with lung disease on June 16, 2020 after a long and courageous fight. But throughout the course of his life the only thing he fought harder for was kids.
Over decades as a teacher, school administrator, and coach Steve always tried to reach out to the entire room, he tried to reach that kid that might get left behind or left out. He knew early in his career the essential need of 7th and 8th graders to feel included and a part of something. He created environments that gave them an opportunity for success. He made a difference.
100% of funds raised here will be provided to middle school and youth sports organizations for the purpose of improving access for all children who want to participate to be eligible to do so. The specific recipients of these funds will be determined by Steve's fellow educators and friends as well as his son.
UPDATE: 1 hour in and we have to adjust the goal. We are awed and so appreciative.
