In Memory of Coach Nate: Support His Family
Donation protected
Coach Nate Osborne had been helping local youth for as long as I knew him. He was an aid at Skyline when I first met him helping kids with disabilities thrive at Skyline high school. No nonsense with compassion, he was a great mentor and role model for his students. He moved into a teaching position in the inner city where he constantly tried to get enough players together to field a baseball team in the OAL. At Future Star Baseball he was a beloved coach by all his players lending his knowledge of the game with consistent life messages and again was a great role model for all our boys.
Nate fell ill around 6 weeks ago and the doctors couldn't figure out what his illness was. He was consistently deteriorating and the doctors just figured out what was wrong with him last Thursday. He had a rare disease called HLH. His body didn't take the medicines they were trying and he passed away early in the morning on 3/19.
Nate is survived by his two sons and his wife. One of his boys attends Moorehouse college and his other son is home in the Bay Area. They have gone through a tremendous struggle, watching their loved one deteriorate and having no idea what was wrong until he was almost at the end.
I'm asking the FSB community to give generously to this fund. He was always there for our boys, every weekend giving his time and his love and we need to give back at this time. I've always tried to make FSB have a family atmosphere and Nate was a huge part of that family. We all need to be there as they try to pick up the pieces. There are no words that we can give to lessen the loss and the pain they will feel but we can help eliminate the financial burden that this long illness has taken on his family.
