Honoring Conner Drake Hanson: A Legacy of Love and Adventures

It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Conner Drake Hanson on Wednesday, August 21st, at 6:04 pm. At just 30 years old, Conner was in the prime of his life, full of dreams, plans, and a profound love for his daughter, Sibyl. His sudden departure due to an acute stomach infection and its complications has left us all devastated.

Conner was loved and respected by many, and he made us incredibly proud. As you can imagine, we are utterly devastated and are trying to make sense of this the best way we can. We know that time will ease our suffering, but our memories of him will never fade. Please feel free to share any stories or photos of our wonderful son with us, and we will ensure they are all shared with his most favorite person, his daughter Sibyl. She was very proud of her daddy and will never forget the full years they had together.

A friend sent us a Bible verse that seems fitting: The Prodigal Son parable ends with Luke 15:31-32, saying: “And he (the father) said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead and is alive; he was lost and is found.”

After much contemplation and encouragement from friends and family, we have set up a GoFundMe account to fund a trust for Sibyl, the light of Conner’s life. All gifts to this fund will be used to enrich Sibyl’s life and support her future and education.
