In Memory of Damien Watchorn

Dear friends, family and kind-hearted people

It comes with a heavy heart to share the story of our dear friend Damien Watchorn who after a very brief and unexpected illness, went to sleep on 30th March 2024 wrapped in the loving arms of his heartbroken wife Edel, who were supported this last week by the very exceptional staff at the Intensive Care Unit, St James’s Hospital.

Damien known to many as Domo, Dom, Damo was not just a devoted husband to Edel, a dad to Jamie, he was a brother, uncle and friend to many who were fortunate enough to meet and get to know him, he was liked by many but loved by lots.

Damien will be remembered for his love of life, his strong connection with his Lucan roots, his love of GAA, Dublin all the way, and his wit, charm and sense of fun. His brief illness and sudden departure have left such a void for his absolute world Edel, which can never be filled and all are struggling to come to terms with his enormous loss.

We have set up this GoFundMe to show support to Edel who is grieving during this very hard and difficult time. All funds raised through this campaign will go directly to Damien’s wife Edel to help her cover funeral expenses and provide some financial stability during this challenging and devastating period in her life.
