In Memory of Dave Sykes

On Friday 15th October, my uncle Dave lost his battle with a severe mental illness that he tried to fight every single day. Dave was caring, full of energy and was never afraid to crack a joke – always following them up with his contagious cheeky grin and giggle we all knew and loved so well.

 

Losing him in such shocking and tragic circumstances has left a big hole in our family and in all our hearts.

 

I am setting up this GoFundMe to help cover the financial costs of a memorial plot in Thurmaston Cemetery, overlooking Elizabeth Park where Dave used to play football. Having this space will give all who adored Dave, a place to pay their respects - but most importantly - it will give his children a special place where they can go and visit their daddy.
