In Memory of Dave Chiros... for his son, Nicholas

On 01/28/23, David lost his brave battle with addiction at the age of 40. He never gave up. He kept putting one foot in front of the next with the primary goal to provide financial support for his 9 year old son, Nicholas. Dave had a deep love for his son. Mental illness and drug addiction interfered with David's ability to show up as the father he knew he was. 

He had a strong example of what it means to be a Dad with our own father, George "Nick" Chiros, who passed away suddenly due to a heart arrhythmia when Dave was only 12. 

Recently, David found an apartment that he was moving into this month. He was so eager & proud to put the pieces back together. Dave enjoyed both Thanksgiving & Christmas this year grateful, present, and surrounded by family who loved him and understood/honored his journey. Our hearts ache to have more time with him, but we know that he is now at peace. 

So many of you have asked how you can help honor David’s life. We have decided that this memorial fund for his son Nicholas is the only answer. David’s daily mission was to do the work necessary to start showing up as a Dad again. Despite the heaviness of his struggles, he never gave up. 

Thank you for your interest & generosity in helping to fulfill David's Dream… which was to find peace and to be of service to others with the primary intention to support his son, Nicholas.
