In Memory of David Engel

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of David Engel — a deeply loving father and devoted husband who was the creative and hilarious spark for his family and community.  A tragic car accident on the morning of August 24, 2024 took David from us much too soon. As a beloved teacher at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, he is remembered by his students as a mentor who had a gift for being sure every student felt seen and heard. David had a way of making you feel like you could be your truest self in his presence; he genuinely brought out the best in all of us. If you knew David then you know how much he loved his family above everything else, so we have created this fundraiser to lift up his wife Nikki, and his amazing twin girls Josephine and Cecilia, as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Funds will support the immediate burden that will come with the absence of David’s income, and will help to ensure that Nikki and the girls are taken care of financially in the months and years ahead as they face a future without David.
