In memory of David Springer

On Wednesday, June 15th, we lost my loving, supportive father, David Springer, to a tragic car accident. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to say, but I am trying to raise funds for his funeral and to support my mother at this time. David was the main provider for our family, and with this sudden loss we now have no financial security.

David was driving on the interstate, running errands, when another vehicle suddenly swerved into his lane, causing David to lose control of his car and collide with a pole not 100 feet away. He was pronounced dead on the scene. This tragedy was sudden, and I never expected to lose my father this young.

There are so many experiences that my family will never get to have with him. He was supposed to walk me down the aisle. He was supposed to retire with my mom in a couple years and grow old together. He leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, son, daughter, and young granddaughter.

When I think about my father, David, I think of a seemingly serious but incredibly passionate, caring, funny, and intensely loving person. He would tell the funniest jokes you have ever heard with a completely straight face. He told the craziest, most unbelievable stories from his life; you would think they were made up, but they were all true. It’s very fitting that he and my mother met while working at Blockbuster, as he was the biggest move buff you ever met and even made short films when he was younger. He always took care of us and prepared for absolutely everything, but he could have never prepared for this.

No amount of money will ever replace David, but in this time of grieving and struggle, any financial support will make this horrible time less hard.
