In Memory of Davy Koszka

Donation protected
Dearest friend,

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Davy Koszka.

Our experience of Davy was that he had an impact on everyone he met, so we know you are among those who felt connected to him. He loved his many communities and was famous for his wit, intelligence, leadership, heart, depth, and megawatt smile. We have so many things to say about Davy’s numerous gifts and are holding him close in our hearts.

A Bay Area memorial service is being planned for the afternoon of Sunday, July 14th at the AIDS Memorial Grove in Golden Gate Park from 3:30-7PM. (Please note the new time change and PLEASE RSVP as soon as possible here so we can make the day extra special

There will also be a memorial service in Olympia, Washington. The details for the Olympia service are not yet solidified at this time.

We have found a beautiful way to honor Davy in an environmentally friendly process called soil transformation, a carbon neutral funeral where his body will be gently transformed into nutrient-rich soil and returned to nature. His family and friends will receive some of this soil in a few months and we will be able to scatter or plant it in places Davy loved, with the remainder to be sent to a conservation site on the Olympic Peninsula where it will be incorporated into land restoration projects and the planting of Douglas Firs and Cedar trees. Davy was born in Washington and loved the Olympic Peninsula, and this site is close to his parents, his sister and her family. Being as nurturing as he was, we know Davy would have loved contributing to more life.

We are humbly accepting donations to offset the costs of the services and arrangements. Contributions may be made through Davy’s Go Fund Me. UPDATE: We have reached our goal. THANK YOU!!!

You are encouraged to buy flower arrangements to keep in your own home as a tribute to Davy, because he loved cut flowers.

Davy’s family welcomes cards and letters with stories and memories about Davy. Please send to the Zielinski Family, 1014 Canning Court SW, Olympia, WA 98512.

Please share this letter with those who knew and loved Davy, and thank you for being an important part of Davy’s life.
