IN MEMORY OF DENISE WICKI AND SUPPORT TO HER FAMILY
Donation protected
Denise, is a Kindergarten teacher at El Rodeo Elementary School. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to the children she works with are truly rare and extraordinary. Denise pours her heart into everything she does, putting the needs of others before her own. She is a blessing to everyone who knows her, and her selflessness and compassion shines through every day.
Devastatingly, approximately six to seven weeks ago, Denise began feeling unwell, initially suspecting it to be the flu. Her condition quickly escalated to pneumonia, and despite treatments, her health did not improve.
Concerned and determined to find answers, she sought a second opinion and checked herself into Cedars-Sinai Hospital. After 21 days of extensive testing, she received the diagnosis we had all feared but never anticipated: Squamus cell carcinoma EGFR EXON 20 Mutation. A form of lung cancer that has a very rare mutation. We worked with an amazing and compassionate world renown oncologist who specialized in this type of lung cancer and he was working on trying to get her the targeted drug that is currently under clinical trials. We were hopeful for a miracle and while waiting for this cancer drug, Denise transitioned to home and her condition declined. Denise passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving day at 9:21 am PST. Denise was 53 years old, she left behind her loving and dedicated Husband of 33 years Olivier Wicki, and her amazing and loving daughter Olivia who is 25 years old.
This news has shaken all of us who know and love her. This world will not be the same without her.
My family and I are committed to supporting her family every step of the way, just as she has supported us countless times. We ask for your prayers, kindness, and any support you can offer to Denise's family during this time.
