In Memory of Diana M Hunter for CJD
Tax deductible
Hello Friends,
In memory of our daughter Diana Marie Hunter, we are asking for your help.
Diana was a healthy, happy, energetic child. She was born into an Army family and she spent her elementary school years in the Netherlands and Germany. Upon her return to the Unites States, she attended Chantilly High School, in Fairfax Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech.
In 2015, Diana began to experience double vision and slurred speech followed by sleeplessness and loss of mobility. Ophthalmologist, Neurologist, Psychologist, primary care doctors; all could only treat her symptoms because they had no clue to the root cause of her illness. By the time she was finally admitted to Johns Hopkins, we were given the devastating news that Diana had a Prion Disease. Within two weeks she passed away, victim to Sporadic Fatal Insomnia (SFI). This disease is in the same family as Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease (CJD), which you may call Mad Cow Disease. These are Prion Diseases which are difficult to diagnose, untreatable and 100% fatal. We encourage you to visit the CJD website for additional information on this deadly disease (www.cjdfoundation.org)
October is the prime month for the CJD Foundation to raise money. We are contributing to this effort by soliciting funds in the form of donations. The money that you donate will be 100% donated to the CJD Foundation, which is leading the fight to identify, document and fund research toward the cure of this disease. In addition to soliciting your donation, we want to spread the awareness of this disease, the knowledge of which is lacking both to laymen and the medical community.
On behalf of the CJD Foundation and in memory of our daughter, we thank you for your donation.
