In Memory of Douglas Harrison

We would like to thank everyone for your prayers and support over the last several years. Your concerns for our beloved Doug were felt across the miles. It is with great sadness that we share the news of Doug’s passing on May 5th, 2022.
Doug underwent a successful open heart surgery on April 21st. However, an acute post-surgery complication occurred that his body could no longer endure. He passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones. The Word says “no more crying or pain.”
He was a proud Vietnam veteran who served in the Air Force for 12 years. After marrying and moving back to the United States, Doug and I adopted our daughters, Maggie and Abby. He took up the role of becoming a stay-at-home-dad. Doug was also the father of Marcia and the grandfather of Katie in Texas.
Doug - a gifted wordsmith and storyteller, author of an unpublished children’s book: Twice the Rice, trained as a professional Santa, taught English to Chinese students in Taiwan, Mandarin Chinese expert, outdoorsman and nature lover, photographer, chef and baker, sci-fi enthusiast, lover of God and family, a true Patriot.
Services Thursday, May 26th at noon with visitation one hour prior. Living Word Christian Center, 9201 75th Ave N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55428. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Friday, May 27th at 1p. Location details to follow.
