In Memory of Dr. Joseph Jolly Sr.

 Dr. Joseph Jolly Sr.  from Waskaganish, QC, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in February on Valentine’s Day.  Joe and Sheila were married for 50 years. We did not expect him to go so soon. With his passing, we have a financial gap that we cannot fill. Any donations that come in towards the remaining expenses and our future will help us tremendously.

 

Dr. Joe was the executive director of (NGM) Native Gospel Ministries. He had also been the executive director of NEFC (Native Evangelical Fellowship of Canada) in years past. This was his work in the ministry, and he lived by faith that God would provide for his needs. He was a grief counsellor in many different First Nations and Indigenous communities across Canada as well. In addition to this he was an author working on several books in his life, with his last book completed just before his passing. Because of this, this book is very special to us and we would like to see it printed at least a year from today.

We were encouraged to start this new fundraiser because there are many people across Canada that Dr. Joe knew who were not aware of his passing, and this might give them a chance to get the news and if possible contribute to our situation.

 

The funeral/burial costs are at the top in terms of necessity. We had to buy a package to bury Dr. Joe's body where we wanted to have the burial. This package included Sheila's future burial plot, and they will share a joint headstone. We must pay for both plots and the headstone at the same time, unfortunately. We are waiting the final costs of what is left to be paid for this. We will put the amount owing on here after we receive it. For the time being we have to pay $8,480.65 upfront on May 26th. After this we have to pay the remainder which is the same amount over the course of four years. Ideally we want pay that off right away to avoid stacked payments each month with our total bills. 

Our monthly bills related to Joe's remaining expenses is more than the income the two of us make. We may have to make the decision to sell our home of 25 years in about a year's time, but hopefully that will not come to pass.
