In Memory of Dr Margaret Wong
Dr Margaret Wong was a woman of many talents - she was a wife, a mommy, a brilliant engineer, and a senior Radiology resident about to begin a fellowship in Breast imaging when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in May, 2020.
Throughout her time at Stanford, even during her illness, Margaret focused on improving the lives of all her co-residents, especially those who were just starting out. She not only served as our official social chair, but could always be counted on to take the junior residents out for coffee, bring delicious food to her resident-family on call, and serve as "Mom" or "Big sister" for all those who needed someone to confide in.
Margaret aspired to become an academic Breast Radiologist, a field where she could combine her love of imaging and procedural skill with patient care. As a budding mammographer, she always wished that there were more opportunities for procedural practice during the early years of residency. Thus, Margaret’s friends at Stanford have decided to honor her memory by raising funds to improve the resident quarters at Stanford hospital - by establishing a skills center where residents can hone their procedural abilities, and by creating a warm and comfortable resident lounge where memorial plaques and artwork can be placed to honor Margaret’s life and her passion for helping others.
We hope that you will join us in commemorating her life and keeping her memory alive!
