In memory of Elsie Smith

Many of you know the Smith family. Their oldest, Elsie, has been involved in numerous STC productions, served behind the scenes for both STC and FYDC, and has blessed Turning Pointe throughout the years as a TA and faithful dance student. Their other children have also been involved at Turning Pointe, STC and FYDC in many ways.

On August 8, Elsie, just 17 years old, suffered a heart attack while out walking. That night, after goodbyes with family and friends, Elsie was released from life support. She is home with her beloved Jesus. Her parents shared that her Bible was open on her bed and they believe the walk she was on was one of her daily prayer walks. Prayer walks were becoming a pattern for Elsie and perhaps she went from praise on earth to praising her Heavenly Father face-to-face.

Sweet Elsie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. For now, details regarding upcoming plans are being discussed and organized. While Elsie was covered by health insurance, all end-of-life and funeral costs will need to be paid out of pocket. We invite her community to come alongside her family in prayer and do what they can to help cover the expenses no family should have to budget for. Any amount helps as we wrap our arms around this amazing family.
