In memory of Eric Long

Eric, the pillar of our family has sadly passed away following his battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). MND is an incurable and awful disease that consequently sees family & friends watch a loved one deteriorate in front of them, and become completely dependant on their assistance to live day-to-day. For a proud man like Eric, slowly seeing him become incapable of the most basic of tasks was truly the hardest part.

Thankfully, we were supported by MND Victoria through this tragic journey - and without them, our family would have felt completely lost and alone over the last year. Not only did the organisation support and keep Eric comfortable over the last 12 months, they also offered extensive support to our family to help us all cope with the crisis.

Without generous donations, an organisation like MND Victoria would not exist. It is extremely important to us that we contribute to help those still battling this terrible disease.

More information about Motor Neurone Disease Assn Of Victoria: MND Victoria provides and promotes the best possible care and support for people living with MND. It delivers Support Services which include information and resourcing, support from volunteers, loan of disability aids and equipment, care coordination and referral. These services are supported by fundraising and administration. The Association collects and shares quality advice on living with MND by promoting support groups, sharing information in print and electronic media, and conducts conferences and face to face meetings. It delivers training and development opportunities. It creates links between people living with MND by by creating formal and informal community support groups. It raises awareness through publicity and information activities. It retains and develops its knowledge base by establishing relationships with other MND associations in Australia and overseas. It advocates for individuals and systemic change to enhance life outcomes for people . It encourages and financially supports research into causes, treatment, and cure of MND. It works to innovate and deliver sustainable services using best practice.
