In Memory of Eric Roybal

Eric was part of our family for 24 years.  He married my sister Tara at a young age after first meeting her in kindergarten.  They learned to navigate through life in various seasons and challenges.  Eric battled cancer twice in his life.  The first was when their daughter Portia was just a month old.  With my sister diligently by his side, Eric was blessed with 17 more years and had the opportunity to see their daughter grow into an amazing young lady.  Without hesitation, Tara and Portia unconditionally supported him once again with endless amounts of love and strength as he fought his last fight with metastatic brain cancer.

Many have asked how they can help.  Although Tara and Portia continue with their self-reliant courage and grace, we know that it gives friends and loved ones an opportunity to show their support as they learn to adjust to life without the physical presence of their husband and father.

First and foremost, I ask that what you share with them is prayers.  Prayers for continued courage and peace in the coming weeks, months and years.  Any donations you wish to make are also greatly appreciated and will go towards the cost of his recent treatments and month-long hospital stay.

Again, thank you all for your continued support for Tara and Portia.  We are in awe of the outpouring of love they have received and appreciate each and every one of you.
