In Memory of Frank Belcher

This past Wednesday February 20th, we were forced to say goodbye to Frank Belcher. After a sudden and unexpected heart issue rushed him to the hospital early Monday morning, Frank passed away Wednesday afternoon surrounded by the people that he loved the most in this world.
Anyone who grew up in Reading over the past three decades most likely came in contact with Frank at some point. Whether he was your youth baseball, basketball, or football coach, or just a familiar face at the grocery store, you probably crossed paths with him one way or another. Mr. Belcher was always looking to help and volunteer his time with the youth of Reading anyway he could, and it is something he truly enjoyed.
There was nothing Mr. Belcher cared more about than his family. If there was something going on that one of his kids was involved with, Mr. Belcher was there to cheer them on proudly. As all three of his children moved on to college out of state, Mr. Belcher followed behind as their biggest fans, and his infectious personality was able to spread even further across the country and touch even more lives. Whether it was a Louisville or NYU Swim Meet, or University of Maine Football game, Frank could almost always be found in the stands, towering over everyone else there, with a huge smile on his face.
With something this unexpected and sudden, the future can feel very uncertain and scary. The money raised will be used to help relieve his wife Charlene in dealing with funeral costs, and with any other potential financial burdens that might arise after losing such a loving and supportive man. Frank Belcher was constantly looking for ways to help someone else before himself, so let's do what we can to help his family while they navigate through this extremely difficult time.
