In Memory of Freya Booth!

Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Jocey and in a month's time I'm going to do my First Open Water Swim Event, a distance of 4.5km across Lake Kalamalaka in Canada. I love swimming and this will definitely challenge me physically and mentally too.

I have chosen to do this in memory of my dear friend Freya, who was totally awesome and was so much fun. She also loved the water, along with her dog Finn, who was mad for about it. As you can see from the picture, they couldn’t wait for summer and days out on the lake! I know Freya would be the first person to motivate me and be ready on her paddleboard cheering me on, with Finn onboard trying to jump in after me! Freya suffered from mental health which she battled with for many years and sadly passed away nearly 2 years ago. This Swim Event happens to be on the weekend of her anniversary, so I can't help think it was meant to be!

The donations will go to Elk Valley Suicide Task Force. They are a not-for-profit society in the province of British Columbia. They promote awareness, prevention and support for those impacted by suicide in the Elk Valley. This Charity is local to the area where Freya and I became friends, they are very active with activities and openness for mental health. The donations will be going on providing free courses around Suicide Prevention day in September.

Whether you would like to donate by the km or just a couple of pennies it will all be gratefully received and will add another bonus from completing this event in her memory!

Thank you in advance and wish me luck!
