In memory of Freya Daisy May Holloway Adams

Hi there. My name is Jamie, and I will be running the Brighton marathon on April 7th 2024; raising funds for The Shooting Star Children's Hospice in memory of my niece Freya.

Freya sadly and unexpectedly passed in December 2023 at just 14 years old. Freya was truly a shining star in all of our lives and I am so grateful for the 7 and a half years that I knew her, watching her grow into a magnificent, bright, and beautiful young woman with a shining future ahead of her.

It is impossible to describe the emotions that all those who were in Freya's life are feeling at the moment; from her mum Ashlea and dad James, her grandparents, all of her uncles and aunties, her friends from school, her dance company, Boundless, and all of those that her life touched.

The Shooting Star Children's Hospice has been providing support to Freya's family and friends. The work that The Shooting Star does is invaluable in helping them process their loss, and in finding a sense of community at a time when that is needed the most.

When I signed up for this marathon last year I could have never envisioned this would be who and what I'd be doing it for, but I truly cannot think of a more deserving cause to raise funds for.

Freya, we both agreed that running was sweaty and gross, but this one is for you. I love you.
