In Memory of Gabriel Vincent
Donation protected
My name is Adee Cazayoux and I am creating this GoFundMe page to support the Bowditch Family during the most challenging time in their lives.
If you have this link it means that you know just how special Jordan and Alexa are. They have likely positively impacted your life and right now they need our support more than ever.
The journey to becoming parents has not been an easy one for the Bowditchs and if you were not already up to speed it has taken a tragic turn.
Alexa shares the whole emotional and devastating story in detail if you would like to read. Here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bX4ET1lerIUJcF_d01QHouS_aiA1YgFOlufsmOL7m-c/edit
WHAT HAPPENED?
After a miscarriage late in 2022, Jordan and Alexa were elated to find out they were pregnant again earlier this year with their first son - Gabriel Vincent.
As the pregnancy progressed they discovered their little boy had Down Syndrome - a challenging realization - and still, they knew this boy was perfect just as he was. They were going to be the most amazing parents to a boy with special needs.
Just days after the diagnosis settled in, Alexa began to feel something was off physically, and together they decided to end a work trip/community project in Mexico to get home to Austin as soon as possible.
Straight from the airport, they headed to the hospital and quickly it became clear that Alexa was in labor and Gabriel would be arriving that evening.
At 12:25am on August 10, 2023 Gabriel Vincent Bowditch was born at just 22 weeks gestation. He was very much alive for 90 minutes and spent every second of his life, on Alexa's chest, showered with love from his parents.
Although he was only 1.5lbs the impact he has left on this world is immeasurable.
I am sure as you read this many feelings come up... sadness, shock, sympathy and likely an overwhelming desire to support people we love so much through such a painful experience.
You're probably thinking "What can I do to make this even a fraction easier for them?" Please read below
HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT THEM?
Alexa and Jordan both would like space during this time. Space to grieve, process their emotions and heal. If you feel compelled to send them a message, that is welcome. However, please be discerning, consider sending to Jordan rather than Alexa, and understand they may not respond.
Please do not reach out with questions as we try to protect them during this time.
THE BEST WAY WE CAN SUPPORT
As you know, Jordan and Alexa are entrepreneurs and bereavement leave is not really an option in that scenario. This all occurred during the biggest revenue period of their year, and as to be expected, working right now is not easy. Alexa is not able to work at all, and Jordan is keeping it all together.
Can you imagine working as you grieve this sort of experience? During a public program launch that helps support your family for the rest of the year?
The Bowditch family is very much in the postpartum phase that we were ready to support them through, but it's happening now versus in December and nowhere near how anyone expected.
They don't need a meal train right now, or gifts from a baby registry. What would be supportive is relieving some of the financial pressure during this time.
If you know the Bowditchs at all, once knowing what has happened you will want a way to support.
This is that way :)
Feel free to share this anywhere and everywhere you feel is appropriate - maybe you know someone that will be touched by their story or someone that has an abundance to share.
Thank you so so so much even for just reading this.
Let me know if you have any questions at all,
