There is a famous saying that recounts: "It takes an entire village to raise a child" To that we would like to add that it takes an entire village to help heal from loss. On August 17th one of our former Encorians, Angelique Berube received the news that her oldest daughter Gabrielle passed away. Most of us at WestJet Encore has had a chance to get to know Angelique, whether in their line indocs as new hires, or have worked with her on the line. I knew she was always a strong woman, always willing to do what was needed for her kids and always willing to help others in need while never ever asking for help from others when she herself is on hard times. This is the quality I love most about her, her strength, and I can with certainty say she could use a helping hand at this time, she doesn’t even have to ask. I am calling upon our community here at Westjet Encore and for ANYONE who may have been blessed with the chance to be friends with this amazing woman, to help her family carry the weight of the devastating and sudden passing of her daughter.
In the last few years, Angelique and her amazing family have struggled, the effects of COVID lead to her having to leave Encore and seek a new start in Ontario with her family. Far away from her support here in Calgary, I wanted to start a GoFundMe to help her family and show that she is still loved even from far away.
Nobody should have to struggle to properly honour the life of a loved one. No family should have to bear the grief of the sudden passing of their child. I want to give Gabbie the memorial she deserves, to honour her memory. However, as many of you know, funeral services are extremely costly so every bit helps. Amongst the pain and suffering, we are hoping to keep this process as smooth as possible, which is why I would deeply and wholeheartedly appreciate donations coming from our community here at Encore and anywhere else, to help cover the cost of Gabbie's funeral service we are hoping to raise 15 000$.
