In Memory of Garry Pope: Support His Loved Ones

When anyone passes they leave a hole in the world. Today we lost a friend, co-worker, mentor, father, husband and an incredibly special person. Garry Pope passed away unexpectedly today, he does not leave a hole, he leaves a huge gaping crater.

When you think of someone who has a heart bigger than Texas, heck the whole world – Garry Pope is the first name to pop into your mind.

When you think of someone whose smile lights up, no just a room, but an entire auditorium – Garry Pope is the first name that comes to mind.

When you think of someone who would give you the shirt off their back – Garry Pope is the first name that comes to mind.

Garry was larger than life, he was a “Big Teddy Bear”. His hugs enveloped you in kindness, his encouragement was so genuine it made you think you could do anything and he loved with no strings attached. He would stop everything he was doing to help you, he loved sharing his knowledge with anyone who would listen and he glowed with pride when you mastered something he taught you. Each step in your learning journey, each accomplishment, Garry was there with his kind words of how proud he was and how he knew you could do it. He could encourage you out of any funk just by flashing that big smile of his. Your heart smiled every time you saw him and everyone looked forward to every opportunity to spend time with him.

His loss is immeasurable to everyone he touched. Take a minute to tell someone Thank You, take a minute to tell someone how much they mean to you and take a minute to tell someone you love them.

Garry leaves behind his wife and 5 children. Please take a minute to pray for them and please help us help them. There is no amount to small to help his family.
