In Memory of Gene R. Odom FVSU Class of 1965
Donation protected
Gene R. Odom was a proud graduate, lifelong fundraiser, and Lifetime Alumni Member of THE Fort Valley State University (FVSU). To know him is to know his love for his alma mater, education, and FVSU football. The personal mantra that he passed down to his children was "Good, better best, never let it rest until your good is your better and your better is your best".
Mr. Odom embodied good, better and best. He lived with bold confidence and faith that God would conquer the impossible. He was a good friend; a better light to the community; and the best husband and father. He entered into a place of peace and holiness on Monday, April 11th. We (his daughters and wife) thank you for your prayers, condolences, and visits. If you wish to donate, any amount will be fully dedicated as a blessing to future Fort Valley Wildcats. All proceeds will go to the Metro Atlanta Chapter of FVSU and the Class of 1965 scholarship funds in the name of Gene Odom.
"Fort Valley State, Fort Valley State, Our lives to thee we dedicate. Our souls we blend to sing thy name. Eternal praise we do proclaim. Faithful and true Fort Valley State, we at thy call forever wait. We lift our hearts in thankfulness for loyalty and thoroughness."
