In Memory of Geo Sosa: Support for Family

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the loss of Dr. Geohaira Sosa, first-year psychiatry resident physician at UC Davis. Geo passed away in a tragic accident only two months into residency. She moved from the East Coast to California and was so excited to start a new chapter in her life. Our community is devastated by this tragedy.

Geo was an absolutely beautiful person inside and out. Many of her co-interns who had the privilege and joy of spending time with Geo these past few months felt that she was becoming one of our own best friends. She was just that type of person to make you feel that way. She radiated joy, kindness, and authenticity. We hope to carry forward her spirit in our communities.

This fund was organized by UC Davis Department of Psychiatry. Please give whatever you can to support her family’s unexpected loss. All funds will be transferred directly to Geo’s father for funeral and memorial expenses, including transportation back to family on the East Coast.
