In memory of Gervais; funeral and repatriation aid
Donation protected
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved Gervais Kouloungou on 19th March 2024. A wonderful father, son, friend and kind soul, who spread love and happiness everywhere he went. Always laughing and smiling, bringing people together and lifting people up by his happy demeanour and generosity of time and spirit.
Gervais was visiting Paris for work in 2022 when he unfortunately contracted COVID-19, from which he suffered several life threatening complications, resulting in significant neurological disability.
Gervais spent almost two years in hospital and rehabilitation fighting to recover, unfortunately eventually succumbing to his condition. He leaves behind his elderly mother and daughters. As a family the costs of a long inpatient hospital and rehabilitation stay have been difficult.
Now we would be so grateful for financial support to grant Gervais his final wish to be buried in his home country, the Congo. Gervais fled to the UK as refugee for a safer life following war in the Congo and Ivory Coast, bringing up his young daughters in the UK as single parent. Yet we know his wish was for his final resting place to be the Congo. We humbly ask you, our friends and community, for your support to make his last journey to return home.
Funds collected will be used for funeral and repatriation expenses from Paris to the Congo and relieve a financial burden for his mother, daughters and family who are grieving this loss. Thank you for your generosity and compassion which makes such a huge difference to us and Gervais.
