In Memory of Glenda Jean Walden

On Sunday the 5th of June 2022, our beloved Glenda Jean Walden passed peacefully into God's hands, surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. No doubt she took comfort knowing we spent her final days together strengthening our family bonds through both laughter and solace.

Her wishes were for us to gather after some time to honour, celebrate and share our memories of her. We therefore extend an invitation to all family and friends to gather and share a meal at "Grammy's Place" (234 Dean St, Rockhampton) on Saturday 16th July from 11am.

We know that Glenda's loved ones are spread worldwide and that there were many chapters and facets to her life. Therefore, whether or not you can attend in person, we invite you to contribute to a special tribute that we will compile and share on the day. You may like to send, for example, some photos or a written story/memory, a small video or a quote that has significant meaning for you. Please send your memories to the family or Glenda's facebook messenger by 30 June 2022.

Anyone who knew Glenda would know that she was not a fan of fresh-cut flowers; she would much rather see the money go to those in need. Therefore in lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a contribution to help us fulfil Glenda's desire to fortify the strength of two young single mums; two amazingly strong and caring women whom Glenda has loved and supported over many, many years. She always empathised with their struggle to love and provide for their family through hardship. She would love to know that, through your kindness, she can provide a moment of unexpected reprieve for these women so they may simply take a break and relish in the joy of motherhood.

We thank you all for your support, thoughts and prayers. Your kindness at this time brings comfort to our family.
