In Memory of Grace Pedley

Hi there

We are the very proud grandparents of Grace Pedley who sadly passed away in 2013 aged 10 years old. Grace was born with Downs Syndrome and after complications during heart surgery at 4 months old she was also diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Although this meant that Grace couldn’t talk or walk, she brought so much joy into our lives with her cheeky personality, fun loving nature and beautiful smile. Grace will always be in our hearts and memories and on 11th October 2020 she would have turned 18. We wanted to raise money in her memory on this milestone birthday for Reynalds Cross School who played a major role in Grace’s life from the age of 3. Due to the challenges of the Pandemic we postponed our fundraising and are starting our challenge of a 100 mile bike ride on Grace’s 19th birthday this year. We aim to complete the 100 miles between her birthday (11th October 2021 ) and the end of the month (31st October 2021). Please help us to help Reynalds Cross school. It is a special school based in Olton, Solihull that provides education for pupils with profound and moderate medical and learning disabilities. They strive to meet the needs of all their pupils which can often require purchasing very expensive equipment to aid learning, adapted minibuses, the provision of a soft play room, a sensory room and a plethora of specialist equipment to make the school and playground safe and usable for children with profound physical and learning disabilities. They endeavour to make learning fun and fulfil the capabilities of every individual child that attends their school. Despite the challenges faced by the pupils, Reynalds Cross is a happy, caring environment where Grace spent many a happy day and it is a charity well deserving of your support.

Thank you in advance of your support and helping us to help FORCS (Friends of Reynalds Cross School - the school’s charity) whilst keeping Grace’s memory alive as we undertake our challenge . A challenge which some might say is insignificant compared to the many challenges Grace faced in her very short life and the challenges many of the pupils at Reynalds Cross face on a daily basis.
