In memory of Helen Ramirez-Odell
Donation protected
In loving memory of Helen Ramirez-Odell, CTU clinicians are fundraising to make a joint contribution to the Mother Jones Statue campaign in Chicago.
Helen was many things to many people. For us who knew her in CPS and CTU, she was always fighting for the rights of others: students, nurses, clinicians and many others. It is fitting that we honor her by taking up one of her passions: to have a statue of Mother Jones be put up in Chicago. Helen was a member of the Mother Jones Chicago Statue Campaign Committee. Helen Ramirez-Odell was VP of the Working Women's History Project, a Chicago Teachers Union retiree delegate, and a CTU Women's Rights Committee member. Helen said: "We need statues of real women in Chicago and a permanent outdoor statue of Mother Jones is important to Chicago and U.S. history, to women's history, and to labor history."
100% of donations raised will be donated to the Mother Jones statue campaign in Helen's memory.
