In Memory of Hiram Rivera. En memoria de Hiram Rivera.

My name is Alex Rivera, and on February 28th, 2025, my dad, Hiram Rivera, passed away. He lived in Norway, Michigan since 2018 after moving out of Puerto Rico. Despite the complicated situation, my sister and I did our best to keep in touch. However, we couldn't afford to visit him since we're both college students and are currently unable to afford the funeral expenses.

All we want is to bring his ashes back from Michigan to Puerto Rico so we can take them to his final resting place on the island he grew up in, but we can't do it alone. This is why we're asking for your support if you're able to contribute anything at all. If not, all we ask is to share this post so it can reach others.

Mi nombre es Alex Rivera, y en febrero 28 de 2025, mi padre, Hiram Rivera, falleció. Él vivió en Norway, Michigan desde 2018, cuando se mudó de Puerto Rico. A pesar de la complicada situación, mi hermana y yo hicimos lo posible para mantenernos en contacto con nuestro padre. Sin embargo, no pudimos visitarlo ya que no contábamos con los medios. Siendo ambos estudiantes universitarios, siempre se mantuvo como un plan. Y, actualmente, estamos intentando pagar los gastos fúnebres para traerlo de vuelta.

Solamente queremos traer sus cenizas de Michigan a Puerto Rico para poder llevarlo a descansar en la isla que lo vio crecer. Pero no podemos hacerlo solos. Por eso, pedimos su contribución si es posible. Si no, todo lo que pedimos es que compartan esta historia para que pueda alcanzar a otras personas.
