In Memory of Hunter Lins-Funeral Expenses (Recipient Joy)

Donation protected
A bullet changed EVERYTHING. After an altercation that began in the parking lot of Alabama Bar & Lounge in the early hours of Saturday, February 1, 2025, Hunter Lins was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late—he didn’t survive…a young and vibrant life cut short…shot and killed after a simple night out with friends.
His family, friends, and this community are devastated by the tragic and unnecessary loss of a vibrant, kind, gregarious young man… a young man who didn’t know a stranger, a young man who was a loyal friend and loving son. A single bullet took all of that, and the future of a 22-year-old young man. His family is now left shocked, distraught, and navigating the gut-wrenching process of preparing to formally send Hunter home to glory, as well as the unexpected and astronomical expense of funeral arrangements. No parent should have to bury a child; no parent should be faced with the necessity of such an unforeseen expense due to the hands of violence…and a single bullet.
Hunter Lins, of Mobile, is the son of Joy Lins Walker, of Mobile, and Jack Lins, who preceded Hunter in death and went ahead to prepare a heavenly home for them in 2017. Hunter is survived his mother, Joy, and older brother, Rusty Lins, and a number of other family, as well as devoted friends. Hunter was born in Mobile on March 02, 2002. He later attended Baker High School and Mary G. Montgomery High School and made close friends at both schools.
An arrest has been made, and charges have been filed, but that offers little comfort in the loss of Hunter; and not at all in the sudden need to plan/pay for a funeral or memorial.
On behalf of the family, we are creating this GoFundMe to ease a bit of this sudden and devastating burden. All funds will be used to offset the cost of Hunter’s final arrangements. We greatly appreciate your consideration of a contribution to ease the family’s burden of navigating the necessary evils of such devastating and senseless act of violence
For Mobile PD, the investigation is ongoing, but for Lins’ family and Hunter’s tight group of friends, the pain is permanent… a pain that answers will not ease.
All proceeds will be going to the family for funeral expenses. (Joy Lins Walker & Rusty Lins)
