In Memory of Ian Sanchez

Nine years ago, Jose and Dihara Sanchez, lives were filled with joy and happiness at the birth of their second son, Ian. As parents, Jose and Dihara, who live in Lodi, taught their two sons the meaning of family, love, hard work and religion.
Five years ago on New Year’s Eve, Ian complained of a pain in the ankle area of his leg. When the pain did not subside, his parents took him to the pediatrician. After some medical testing, the life they knew and loved changed forever. Ian was diagnosed with cancer. This brave little boy who was 4 ½ years old at the time began a 5 year fight that was filled with testing, chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and so much more. He never complained he just wanted to get better and go back to school to see his teachers and friends. He was so happy when he was well enough to do just that.
In June, 2017 after his radiation treatment ended, a scan revealed that Ian’s cancer was back with a vengeance. In July 2017, Ian had major surgery to remove a large tumor near his lung. Since July 2017, Ian has fought with every breath, never losing his wish to get better and return to school or his beautiful smile.
Early this morning, February 11, 2018, nine year old Ian lost his battle with sarcoma. Their little boy with a smile that would light up a room passed away in his family home with his mom, dad and older brother, Joshua, at his side.
They are devastated.
This family had put all their life savings into trying to find a cure for Ian. Now, they are in need of financial assistance to help defray funeral and burial expenses. Any contribution to this fund would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
