On the morning of Tuesday, March 7th, Ismael Hernandez departed this world.
Ismael was a bright young man who was motivated, hard-working, driven, inspired to achieve his goals and dreams. He always had a smile on his face and a positive outlook in life.
His passion was to work in the medical field where his goal was to help others in need, which reflected the kind hearted person he was. He was the type of person who would do anything for anyone and take the time to listen to others. He was an amazing brother, uncle, son and friend that anyone could have. He had a great love for his two nieces, happy to see them and be part of their lives, but also be a positive influence to them.
He graduated Santa Barbara City College in 2013 and transferred on to UCSB to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. This year, Ismael would have been walking in the Class of 2017 across the UCSB stage with a Bachelor’s Degree. After that, he wanted to pursue a nursing degree or be a physician’s assistant. His passion was to learn and always had an open mind to learn more about nursing because he wanted to be a change for others and be of help too.
Above all, Ismael, it hurts to know you are gone and that we won’t be able to see your smile again. But, as much we would question this departure, only god knows why he does what he does. A heart of gold stopped beating, two shining eyes now are at rest, God broke our hearts to let us know he only takes the best. Only God knows you had to leave us, he took you home, but you didn’t go alone, part of us went with you when you were called by the lord, to us who love and lost you, your memory will always last. See you soon.
